MORE Summer Fun!

We have really been taking full advantage of summer, family and the wonderful town we live in! It is so nice to live in the moment and have the ability to be a bit more spontaneous. Now that Mellany is almost 2 (ahhhh!!) it is much easier to just get in the car and go!

Here's some more of what we've been up to!

I will say it now....I would put money down that Mellany will be a vet. She notices when Bo is out of food and proceeds to give him his food. I carried his bowl to her (she was carrying the scoop back and forth) but she did the rest. Made my heart melt!

She did the same thing with the boats....pretty unsure at first but ended up loving it!

Now, the wacky worm....she hated! But loved watching other people ride it.

Mellany has become somewhat obsessed with saying her ABC's and numbers. We are both so impressed with how many of them she can say on her own; she even starts them at random! This clip is from a few weeks ago and she could/can say many more than I "allow" her to, but regardless it is adorable (at least we think). :) 

Summer Fun!!

Again...I'm a little behind. But that's what summer is all about right?....Slacking off a little.....well, either way, I will tell myself it's ok. We are so enjoying our summer. Each day is something new and while I hate the actual heat, it is so nice to be able to go outside if we want to. Here's what we have been up to lately...Enjoy!

 Even in the summer we must do some cleaning....thank goodness I have a big helper! Mellany absolutely loves to help; wether it is the dishwasher, vacuuming, dusting, or cooking dinner....she wants to help. 

We had a really nice streak of 70/80 degree weather so we took full advantage. The wagon has been a great investment. 

Gammy came to visit!!!! She was here over the 4th of July and we had so much fun! We went to the Gibbon parade with the Rahmann clan on the 4th and had a picnic lunch in the park (well, Mellany didn't because she was too busy playing). Mellany enjoyed the parade for the most part but she was not a fan of the sirens. She also took full advantage of the candy, especially the sweet tarts.

and we're OUT! Thank goodness she slept some on the way home because she didn't nap but for 30 minutes once we got home...she was just too excited that Gammy was here!

Somebody had a long day...sleeping while holding a flag and legs propped on Mickey. 

MOPS Playdate at the park. She decided she was done with playing and wanted to look at the fountain and flowers. This girl likes her distance from mama...can you tell?!

We recently decided that Mellany was ready for a booster seat to sit at the table. She loves it so much that she wants to sit in it everywhere. 

She does a great job in her big girl booster!

This past weekend we finally got around to working on my dad's father's day gift. We made a stepping stone for him with Mellany's footprints. I think he will love it; it turned out so great! 

This past weekend we also decided to be spontaneous and drive to Grand Island to eat at Olive Garden and make a quick trip to the mall (so crazy and spontaneous right?!....we are getting old....we are dealing with it lol). And it was so worth it. Mellany did great....I got some freebies at the mall and we came home and rented a movie. Perfect Saturday for us! 

We are so excited to celebrate our Nephew Daxton's birthday this weekend and are hopeful for a great trip!! Happy Tuesday!
