Barn Renovation

When our current house was first built, the barn on our property was used for horses. A couple of homeowners later, I don't think any livestock really were housed in the barn (there were other animals on the property at different times including chickens and goats that we know of). When we purchased the home the barn needed some serious love. After a lot of discussion about how we would like to use the barn, we decided to put in a concrete floor and make it more of a shop. If I do say so myself, we made a great decision! It looks great, is extremely functional for us and most of all, John is in heaven! Most weekends and many nights you'll find him in the barn organizing, cleaning things up, putting things together for his next yard project, etc. etc. We even have a spot for our camper to be parked!! Definitely money well spent!

Before....

During: Concrete mixers, dirt work, gravel and 3 extremely happy boys!

After!

End Of April/Beginning of May

It's one of my favorite times of the year.....spring and end of the school year!!! I'm so excited for school to be out and Mellany to be home every single day, our trip to Colorado and Kansas City, planting flowers, our summer bucket list and all of the other things that go with warmer weather!!!

As usual, we've had lots of random things going on and are definitely keeping busy. Here's pictures of what we've been up to...

Winston loves the pillows Nana made for the kids for Christmas

Trying to snuggle with Johnny at rest time

Johnny's Spring Program.....they sang several songs and had cookies after. It was super cute and Johnny seemed to actually enjoy himself while on stage. In previous years, he wasn't a big fan of the singing and motions...

{Big girls taking selfies}

{Johnny is in the blue short sleeve polo}

Boys stole my phone

So thankful Winston loves his kennel

The kids got headphones for Easter and they love them!

One of his favorite spots is behind the couch

...see, he LOVES the pillows...

The first nice day we had outside since brining him home. He loves the outdoors!

Friday night movie night!

Girls morning at the salon

After the salon I needed to pick up some pies. Along the way we walked by these art pieces and Mellany thought they were so cool and wanted her picture taken with them.

T-Ball pictures! We have yet to play a game because of rain but these boys are ready!

Sunday at church. Johnny & Simon's teacher sent this to me and said they worked very hard on their building that day.

Car ride to get Mellany from school

Johnny got in some big trouble recently at a friend's house and had to write an apology letter....it made me so proud because he knew he had made a mistake and took his punishment like a big boy without one single tear.

Rest time

Charlie had to go to time out one afternoon, Winston was very concerned about why Charlie was so upset

When he's really tired he lays like a human!

Getting in trouble is happening a lot around here lately with the boys....on this occasion Johnny had to write alphabet letters (since he can't write sentences yet, I resorted to just letters)

"Take a picture of me with Winston Mom"

Bus stop selfies!

Winston took an adventure to Johnny's school last week. Johnny loved showing him to the class and the majority of the kids loved petting Winston. (Charlie made himself right at home...he's in the black hat. He loves Johnny's school!)

Trip to Hobby Lobby....I was taking a few pictures of things through the store and Johnny eventually said "Mom, take our picture too!" Shortly after this picture, things took a horrible turn and Charlie ended up throwing a fit and screaming through the store, checkout and to the car....lasted about 30 minutes....it was HORRIBLE!

SIMON'S BIRTHDAY!!! We got to help celebrate Simon's birthday this past weekend....pizza, cake, presents and lots of playing!

Getting ready for church

John finally got the sprayer he has been wanting so the dandelions could stop taking over our yard. He was a like a kid on Christmas! And the yard looks MUCH better!

Pretty girl trying on her new outfit for Aunt Amy's wedding! How did she get SO big?!
