It's been a little while so I've got about half pictures from before spring break and then half from during spring break. The past few weeks have really been such a happy time for us--we love spring! We've had just the right amount of activities going on which gives us plenty of family time together, just like we like!
Before officially being on spring break, Johnny had ninja class.....

....and got in some sweet morning snuggles with Winston...
.....I had the most amazing sunrise view on my way home from the gym....
...these boys had some breakfast together...
....another ninja class (Johnny amazes me every single week with his abilities!)...
....Charlie not enjoying listening to The Judds on the radio...
.....and some bathroom demolition!!!....
Some of my favorite view are of Winston snuggling with the kids while they sleep. He's such a "protector"!
I found the most amazing strawberries at the grocery store and couldn't believe how HUGE they were.
Charlie and I hanging on the trampoline....the warm days have us really itching for summer!
While all the kids were at school, I got some bulbs and seed planted. This side of the house has nothing, so I'm hoping these all come up the way I'm envisioning it in my head.
Arriving early at car line means I get to watch my baby boy walk in from recess....(he's in the navy blue long sleeve)
The day before spring break, Millie arrived!!!! The Okos' headed out of town for spring break, so we called dibs on having Millie at our house! We were all so excited and really loved having her at our house!
Mellany's teacher hands out challenge cards for kids who would like to have an extra challenge, just for fun. Mellany brought one home over break and was instructed to make a chair out of only tape and paper. The chair has to be sturdy enough for a small stuffed animal. She disappeared into her room for about an hour and then came out with this! She did such a good job!!
It wouldn't be a break from school without some sickness for us. Johnny tested positive for influenza A. He had a super high fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat and his ears hurt.....thank goodness for tamiflu! (He even fell asleep Sunday afternoon, which he NEVER does!)
Millie loved standing in this spot while I was in the kitchen :)
Millie did not like when the kids went out to play without her!
During Spring Break, we let each of the kids have a special night to stay up late with John and I and they could pick whatever they wanted to do. For Charlie, he wanted to play his tablet and sleep with John & I.
John the dog whisperer!
For Johnny's special night, he wanted to play his tablet, watch "Sing" and have a snack and sleep with John & I.
One thing John and I have been wanting to take the kids to do is roller skating!! John and I both went every single Saturday when we were kids and LOVED it. We found a rink in Lafayette and went for it! They all loved it too!! John and I still "got it" and that made us feel really good :) hahaha!
Hoping to make this happen more often!
It was finally nice enough that we could put up the basketball goal we purchased a few weeks back. While Charlie and Mellany were playing this winter, we realized how much we all enjoy it, too we figured it would be the perfect addition at our house for spring and summer.
So thankful for Charlie's help as well as having the tractor! ;) (All jokes aside, John said Charlie really did a great job at helping dig the hole for the pole.)
For Mellany's special night, she chose to play Nintendo with John and watch Harry Potter.
Isn't she just the sweetest?!
This was another favorite spot for her... :)
A few things I do over spring break every year is clean my ovens (not sure how this became a spring break chore, but it did) and clean out kids closets/dressers (I do this during fall break too). This is the pile of clothes that no longer fit or that they don't want....crazy how much they grow and change over the course of a few months!
The last activity for Spring Break was some fun at Fair Oaks! John had to travel to KC for work and we were all bummed about that, so this felt like the kind of thing to do to lift our spirits. My mom got the kids a membership for Christmas so it's nice to go for a few hours and not feel pressured to do everything! On this day we took the pig tour, had some lunch, went through the ropes course and got some ice cream. We had so much fun! The kids are at the perfect age for me to take them by myself. My dad and Teresa got the kids a stay at the hotel for Christmas so we are already planning for that on our next trip!

I had specifically told the kids that we wouldn't be getting anything from the gift shop and to please not ask. But of course, I'm "soft" and spotted these cute little pigs on my way to the restroom and everyone ended up with one! :)
Before heading back to school, Mellany had an appointment for a quick trim for her hair. These chickens never disappoint!
Now bring on Summer!!!!!!! The Barrett crew is ready for some summer sports camps, vacations and sleeping in!!!
