{Somewhat} Wordless Wednesday on Thursday!

It has been a super crazy week around here trying to get things ready for Mellany's birthday and with Johnny being out of town; this mama is definitely ready for the weekend!

We spent Saturday at Noah's 5th birthday party! Mellany wasn't crazy about the opening presents part as you see in both pictures. She was more interested in watching another kiddo (first picture) and playing on Noah's Grandma Pix's phone (second picture, below the clock).

Butcher paper coloring! One of the best pinterest/blog ideas ever!

Selfies! (wouldn't be complete without a silly face of course)

And a little bit of "drums"

Big girl haircut!

Mellany got her first haircut this past week and man does it look super cute! It makes her look about 5 years older, but it is really adorable! I was really impressed with the way Mellany handled all of it too. She sat in the chair, didn't scream, cry, etc., and even pointed things out around the room. I was so proud....of course the candy she got for sitting in the chair probably helped our cause. :)

Rocker Re-Do

This past weekend I stepped out of my comfort zone a little and took on a pretty decent sized craft project. My parents bought this rocker when I was a baby and I always thought it was so neat as a kid. I begged them to keep it versus selling it in a garage sale and thus the chair became mine. I eventually decided I didn't really like the look of it as it was and with nowhere to put it in our current home, I thought I would just go ahead and sell it in our garage sale this past June. Well, nobody bought it. After talking to a friend about the chair she suggested I go looking at pinterest; and I did! What I found was simple and looked amazing.....so, I took on the project and am SO glad I did. It turned out incredible (if I do say so myself). I can definitely see how this becomes addicting!

{Somewhat} Wordless Wednesday!

**Today, we are remembering 9/11...the victims and their families, the soldiers and their families. May we never forget!**

A little saturday cleaning

Chiefs Sunday! I probably went a little overboard with these, but they were all just so darn cute!

She saw daddy with mama's phone and when she was told she couldn't have it, she was not a happy camper!

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

Labor Day in Branson, MO!

We took our yearly trip to Branson for Labor Day and Johnny was even able to join us! (Since harvest is a little later than last year's) As always, the trip went smooth and we really enjoyed the relaxation and family time. Mellany really enjoyed it more than last year too, as she's able to do a little more exploring now that she's walking/running. We're already looking forward to next year!

Mickey Mouse & Cheerio's while mama is packing

We are so lucky to have such a great traveller.

Looking at the fish at Bass Pro in Springfield (Isn't this so sweet?!)

Stopping at Gammy's and got to see Great Grandpa Hinshaw

One of her favorite things to do as of lately is wear everyone's shoes

Back home we go....with a fully loaded car

While Johnny & I were unpacking in another room, I came into the laundry room to find this...

As always seems to be the case, I didn't take enough pictures. I didn't capture Mellany & Daxton playing in the rain at the campground, or Mellany not wanting to swim "in" the pool or even lunch at Lamberts and Mellany in "awe" of the "roll thrower". I really disappointed myself with this one as I thought I had done a much better job this year; that is until I started looking through the pictures on our way home. I have vowed to do a much better job from now on!

Anderson & Sam came to visit!!

Our really good friends Samantha & (her son) Anderson came to visit us from Columbia, MO a few weeks ago. The two made the 7 1/2-8 hour drive to spend some time with us and to say we had a blast is an understatement. Mellany and Anderson are 2 months apart and they sooooo enjoyed each other. From taking baths, to exploring Kearney, to just plain screaming through the house...there wasn't a single dull moment with these two. I did pretty good taking pictures, but still don't feel like I took enough. Oh well, you can't spend your entire day behind a camera right?! We cannot wait for them to come back very soon!

Taking a bath, Mellany promptly took over washing A's hair.

They had a blast at the Children's Museum. Mellany loved the water and Anderson loved the construction/blocks area.

"Ring around the rosie" was a HIT!

A little outside fun!
