I feel like this meme pretty accurately describes the Barrett Family at this point....
We have good days for the most part where we are enjoying time together, working on anything and everything around the house, playing outside, watching movies, playing games, completing art projects, baking, etc. etc. And then we have days where we aimlessly wander the house looking for things to do, cry because we can't play with friends and go to parks, throw fits because we don't want any veggies on our plate at dinner, etc. etc. But for the most part, this whole experience has been really great and I'm honestly sad to see it ending fairly shortly. I am living my best life over here (almost everything is organized, cleaned and in its place/put together and all 5 of us are at home all day every day...basically the best scenario in my opinion) and I am pretty sad knowing it will end somewhat soon.
I am still getting out of the house about once a week to grab groceries and run a few necessary errands. The kids will occasionally ride with me and John gets out about once a week just for a change of scenery. But for the most part, we are home and soaking up the time we have all together.
Here's what's been happening at our house...
While Mellany does her school work I try to do a few activities with the boys. This activity was one where they had to find an object that starts with each letter of their name. Mellany actually ended up taking part in this activity too.
These two love having lunch together. Charlie even joins in on occasion.
Mellany has enjoyed exercising with me. This one was especially fun for her because it was Barre which is ballet based.
Somehow, I got a case of poison sumac on my arm. Not sure where it came from, but it was awful. I've gotten it before and thankfully this time it was only one spot on my arm. After about 5 days, I couldn't take it anymore and scheduled a virtual urgent care visit to get a steroid cream. It felt so much better even after the first application! It's been about two weeks now since it first appeared and all the bumps are gone but there is still a red mark on my arm and I still get an occasional itch here and there. But thankfully, the oozing, burning, inflammation, peeling and majority of itching are gone!

Winston is really loving having us all home. I think that at times we become too much for him, but he's really good about just going into his kennel to be alone.
Charlie's preschool zoom call. Each kiddo in his class got to share a show and tell. He really enjoyed seeing his teachers and friends.
Livin it up in quarantine!
This boy is always ready for a laugh.
Last fall I prepped some apples for pie filling and had also made some pie crusts and placed in the freezer. Because I've got the time, I decided we might as well have apple pie for dessert one Friday night. So, I assembled it all, baked it and I must say..... it was delicious!!
We are using all kinds of toilet paper over here, so we might as well do a toilet paper roll craft. These butterflies turned out super cute!
Spirit week for remote learning: hat day! The boys love watching Mellany's morning meeting video from her teacher.
Johnny's photography skills.
Winston was ready for bed!
Charlie showing off some shoes that Simon gave him.
You know you've been in quarantine a while when you let your sister fix your hair :)
Charlie helping me make chocolate chip cookies
Cleaning project: Windows. Pretty sure these windows hadn't been cleaned in years! I'm a little embarrassed to say we are just now cleaning them but, thanks to CoVid-19 we are crossing it off the list!
We are also going through candy from Halloween to Easter....I usually send some to John's office but since no one is working from the office, it is just sitting in our pantry. Johnny wanted to put some in bags for friends....
We finally got to see some friends and had a trunk picnic in our church parking lot. The kids were just so excited to see each other, even if they couldn't play. Everyone brought a show and tell to share.
FaceTime with 3 year olds :)
The kids put together a plan to purchase a trampoline and seesaw for this summer. They each came up with a chore they could do in order to earn money and then presented it to John and I. We knew they were in the basement working on something but had no idea they were putting together a business plan. After the presentation they proceeded to count the money in their piggy banks in order to pool it all together to purchase the items. John and I were so blown away that we are currently in negotiations of what we should do......stay tuned!
Trying to work on my bible study....apparently Winston needed some attention.
That's all for today... Happy Wednesday! (I may have had to look at my calendar to see what day it actually was... hahaha!)
