Camping: Crawfordsville, IN

Last Thursday evening we decided to take a spontaneous camping trip to Crawfordsville, IN. We really, really, enjoyed the first trip so we thought why not go again?!....and we did! I wasn't very good at taking pictures this time (which is kind of ok with me because I like to ditch my phone for the weekend) but I did capture a few before we left. We mostly stuck around the campground playing on the playground, swimming in the pool, going for walks and Mellany even fell in love with the fire pit ashes (oh the joys of camping!) Mellany and I also took a trip back to Lafayette for a birthday party Saturday afternoon while the boys hung out in the camper. 

We absolutely cannot wait for our next trip! The decision to buy a camper was definitely one of the best decisions we have made as a family....the kids love it, we love it, it's relaxing....it is literally a home away from home! 

The pictures I got are mostly from when we were packing up and the kids were watching John load up the outside stuff. 

And we can't leave out the video of Johnny laughing at himself as he spits out his grapes at lunch.  

Barrett Family Camping!

WE BOUGHT A TRAVEL TRAILER!!! After a lot of research (mainly done by my husband) and looking at trailers, we found one that we love and can't wait to explore the country. Our maiden voyage was this past weekend and we couldn't be more happy with our pick. With only a few "setbacks" we feel pretty confident in our camping abilities. Next stop: Branson, MO!

First camping trip: Prohpetstown, IN. The campground was really great. It had a nice playground, paved roads for biking/walking, an aquatic center nearby and a picnic table and fire pit with plenty of shade.

We are back from Kansas City, back from buying a travel trailer and our first camping experience in the trailer and gearing up for the end of summer/beginning of fall which means back to preschool, a labor day vacation and cooler weather! Here are some snapshots of the things we've been up to lately.

After getting home from ballet, Mellany walked into the office, sat down in the chair and began to write. I asked her what she was doing and she said "I'm getting work done mama"

The last day of the summer session for ballet and gymnastics. Parents are invited to watch a portion of the end of the class for each. Mellany is really loving ballet.
