Boys Bathroom Remodel

It's been almost two years since we've started this project and to be able to say it is finally COMPLETE makes me absolutely giddy!!!

Soon after we moved in to this house almost 6 years ago, we realized that the boys bathroom was not a user friendly, functional space and started dreaming of what it could be. I asked the question every husband fears: "is this a load bearing wall?" and the project began!!

The result is a bathroom that is super functional, has tons of storage and is by far the nicest bathroom in the house (no, I'm not jealous at all that my boys have a nicer bathroom than I do ...haha!)

Here are the before pictures......basically the bathroom was one big maze....

Demo day was a favorite of the boys!! (Goodness, they were so small!)

Thankful it wasn't a load bearing wall! What used to be Johnny's closet, will now be a double vanity with Charlie's vanity area and what was Johnny's vanity area, will now be his closet.

After a long while of trying to do the renovation ourselves, we came to the conclusion that we just didn't have the time to fully dedicate, so I made a call and hired a contractor. It was so nice to be able to take it off our plate. After we called the contractor, we had some decisions to make....cabinets, shower door, fixtures.....

Things started getting delivered.....look how long the vanity top is!

And major progress was being made!

And then....it was FINISHED!!! We couldn't be more happy with how it turned out! We have a few small things to finish up and our final next step is to install carpet; but it looks and feels amazing! Absolutely worth the wait!

Johnny's finished closet....John did such an amazing job!!

All the Activities!

Here we are in the middle of winter, trying to do our best from going crazy being stuck inside! Thankfully, our kids activities are pretty helpful with that and as a bonus, the weather has actually been decent enough that we've gotten to be outside some and even enjoy the warmth from the sun.

Here's just a few pics of the things we've been doing...

It was snowy and muddy and so cold, but that didn't hold Johnny back from climbing the "tower" at the entrance to our neighborhood! He is such a monkey!

Johnny got to build a candy dispenser during a scout meeting and was so proud of the work he did!

Mellany was voted on to student council and one of their fundraisers is a dance that takes place after school. She asked me to curl her hair that morning and when she took this selfie while waiting for the bus, I couldn't believe how grown up she looked. I volunteered to take tickets at the dance and these girls even let me take their picture!

One of our absolute FAVORITE things this time of year is a King Cake from Louisiana! Our friends from church surprised us with one this year and it was gone within days!

Love this pup!

Charlie is playing basketball again this winter with some buddies and he is really loving it and his skills have improved so much from last year.

Charlie got to make a flag picture at scouts one night after learning about the facts of the flag. It was one of his favorite meetings and he couldn't wait to come home and tell me all about why there are stripes and stars, etc.

Mellany had her third dance competition this past weekend and her team did amazing! I love watching these girls perform and get to do something they love! They also took 1st in pom and 2nd in hip hop, which is icing on the cake!
