This time of year is so fun! The kids love everything about Valentine's Day and with the Chiefs in the Super Bowl it adds even more excitement.... (if only they had won!! Hopefully next year!). We've also gotten quite a bit of snow which has given us a couple of 2 hour delays for school and 2 cancellations....unfortunately it has been so cold and windy that playing in the snow has been pretty minimal. Looking into the next week or so, our temps are supposed to rise and we are all looking forward to that!
Charlie and I went into Party City to find some stuff for the super bowl but came out with some Dr. Seuss items instead.
Valentine's Prep for school....Charlie picked paw patrol
Johnny lost another tooth! He has yet to put it under his pillow though....he doesn't have an exact reason why he doesn't want to put it under his pillow, he just doesn't want to....He has a third loose tooth and I'm wondering if he will maybe put them both under the pillow then. For now, the tooth sits in a bag on his nightstand. :)
More Valentines prep....Johnny picked Lego Valentines and Mellany picked outer space valentines
Charlie got to celebrate "P" week by wearing pajamas to school and eating pancakes for snack. It was super bowl weekend so he was extra excited to wear his Chiefs PJ's!
Celebrating "Red Friday" in Indiana!!
The neighbors had some lambs for a few days so of course we had to stop over....Mellany and Johnny absolutely loved them, Charlie wasn't a fan at all.
Super Bowl Sunday! We celebrated with the Okos crew....Yummy food, party favors and the best of friends made for a great night. Unfortunately we only got to watch about 30 minutes of the game because our power went out due to a vehicle accident near us. Nothing rains on these kids' parade though; they still had a great time playing in the dark! With the power out and no heat, we turned on the fireplace and camped out in the living room for most of the night. Around 2am the power turned back on and I've never been so thankful for electricity! Definitely something we will never forget!
Working on my bible study and getting to snuggle this guy is a pretty great afternoon if you ask me.
FaceTime with Gammy and the kids were going bananas...as you can tell by the boys' faces
Hand-me-downs from Simon are Charlie's favorite!
One of our other favorites during this time of year are King Cakes from Louisiana! We have some friends that moved here from Rustin, LA and got us a King Cake the first year they were here and we've been hooked ever since. It's a tradition that will forever exist in the Barrett house..even if we are in Indiana!
We've definitely felt the love from our families this Valentines Day! Balloons/candy/cookie kits from Papa & Teresa, Cupcakes from Nana and Culvers Dinner/Stickers from Gammy! It's always so fun to get special deliveries and mail!!
He swiped my phone.... :)
The 8"+ of snow (blowing/blizzard type snow) that fell on top of the 10 inches we already had! Winston loves playing in it, but poor guy has a hard time finding a good spot to potty because the snow reaches his belly!
Looking out the back door...the red circle is our water table and the purple circle is the car to the roller coaster....you can also see the snow piled up next to the door and you can't see the steps whatsoever!
The driveway before and after being plowed
