Johnny's Potty Celebration!!

It's official....Johnny is out of diapers!!!! He had no desire to go on the potty initially. But when his best friend Simon decided to start going on the potty, I think Johnny had a change of heart and this momma took full advantage. One random Friday afternoon, he decided to "go" on the potty and agreed to wear big boy "underwears" and I made the decision that there was no turning back! I set my timer for every 15 minutes, pulled out the skittles and jelly beans (he gets a "pee skittle" every time he goes on the potty--even in the middle of the night and first thing in the morning.....and I'm pretty sure there are many times where he just wants a jelly bean or skittle and will "go" just to have the snack--but hey, whatever works right?!) and within about a week Johnny was staying dry through the night and is pretty much accident free. With that said, he does still have the occasional setback and doesn't want to poop on the potty (not sure why) so I've set up a sticker system and bought cars/prizes/treats to help encourage him. When he isn't pooping on the potty, he usually has an accident in the night too. Hopefully this will pass soon because as for peeing accidents, he isn't having any!

We are so proud of our sweet boy and feel like he looks about 5 years older now that he is wearing big boy "underwears".

After his first "#2", we headed straight to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate! And we had a blast!

We're so proud of you Johnny!!!!

{{Somewhat}} Wordless Monday!

Be prepared....there's a ton of pictures in this post! I've slacked off on my posting mainly due to children demands and a husband who is working so very hard for us out of town at certain times, so the "me" time isn't always easy to find. We are BEYOND EXCITED for spring time!!! We are (still) done with being sick and being inside and ready for some sun, play dates at the park, riding bikes, sidewalk chalk and our trampoline!! But for now, we are staying busy with indoor activities and preparation for soccer for Johnny, swim lessons for Mellany and Johnny and Mellany's ballet recital as well as Johnny's birthday (yep, the conversation is in full swing and he's already saying he is "3").

Here's what we've been up to!

Kinetic sand....usually only played right before the house gets cleaned....they love it and will play for a good couple of hours if I let them.
