Eggs, Baseball, 4H, Dance & George Strait

SEVEN DAYS!! We only have SEVEN DAYS left until the end of the school year!! The mornings are a struggle for everyone (myself included!) and the afternoons are busy with end of year activities, baseball & dance & 4H, and overall enjoying all the daylight....which means bedtime is a struggle too! Seven days.....we just have to make it seven days! haha!

I'm way behind on posting so there's a ton to talk about; here's what we've been up to! :)

Winston has wanted lots of snuggles lately. With us being in and out so much recently, he loves to get in a good snuggle in the afternoon with me. He's pretty cute, so I don't mind.

Because we've really lost our minds, we decided to let Johnny incubate and hatch six eggs. We are currently on day 20 so they should be hatching anytime starting tomorrow. Johnny candled the eggs a week or so ago and it looked like we would at least have 5 chicks, at that point. To say that he is excited for them to start hatching is an understatement. And honestly, I've never hatched a chicken, so I'm pretty excited too; we all are!

Mellany has been loving her FACS class so much (which makes this former FACS teacher's heart so extremely happy!!!) that she made us all dinner one Sunday, all by herself! She made Bubble Bread Pizza and it was fantastic! She even cleaned everything up!

Johnny has had several "meets" for his Shooting Sports Project in 4H and has had a fantastic time! In the first year, you shoot rifles, pistols, shotguns and archery. His favorite so far has been shotgun and he would really love to be in some sort of competition with it; which I wouldn't mind doing because he loves it so much. Not to mention, he's a pretty good shot!!

Our neighbor was getting rid of their youth sized ATV and asked if we had any interest in it. We took the boys over to take a look at it and they were SOLD! I don't think there's been a day since we bought it that they haven't ridden it, so it's been worth every penny!

We've been at the baseball field A TON! Like 4 times a week! Johnny really enjoyed playing catcher at this practice...

Charlie up to bat!

John and I had a pretty great date night with some neighbor friends to see George Strait, Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town in Indianapolis. The concert was fantastic and I didn't want it to end! My mom and aunt actually traveled for the concert too so it was fun to see them there as well!

I volunteered in Johnny's class to take them to their Reading Assembly and getting to see these two together makes my heart happy.

It is safe to say Charlie's favorite position is catcher! And he does a pretty great job at it!

Another night, another baseball game.....this one in the pouring rain! I love watching my boys play baseball, but not so much in a downpour!

(Look at the mud Charlie was sitting in!!)

Johnny got strep and was out for a few days of school, so it was just Charlie and I in carline and he asked for a picture. :)

Johnny likes to be safe on the ride home from school...ha! He kept saying "Dad, I'm just like you!"

Johnny also loves to drive us from the barn to the house...

Johnny had a field trip to the children's museum this past week. It was just he and I in a group so we got to do whatever he wanted and we had a great time. Of course, we spent the day with Simon and Kelley which made it even better.

(Pretty sure this will be the last time they ever ask to ride the carousel....they looked so grown up!)

Mellany had dance tryouts for next year and made the team again!! She's ready to see what her 7th grade year brings!

At the fields again....and Charlie playing his favorite position. This might be my favorite picture of him to date! Although, he definitely looks pretty grown up and that hurts my heart.

Mellany spent an evening working on her 4H sewing project last week and had a great time. Our neighbor has volunteered to help her and I couldn't be more thankful as my sewing skills are super minimal.

This grown up kid made breakfast all by himself and he was so proud!

Johnny's class at Field Day with their principal "King Pearl"!

Mellany's last band concert as a 6th grader. Our girl loves to play trombone!

Happy Wednesday!!!
