{Somewhat} Wordless Wednesday

Things have been pretty quiet around here. Johnny and I had a date night last Friday {which was WONDERFUL} and did some shopping for our Florida trip, which is at the end of the month, on Saturday; with a pretty busy day of cleaning for me and daddy/daughter time for the two other loves of my life on Sunday. We are prepping for another trip to KC this weekend and I am DETERMINED to take more pictures. I didn't do very well the last time we went home. We've got plans with each parent, including a bridal shower and bachelorette party for the future Mrs. Fly and we're pretty excited!!

**The Voice** - Part 2

Mellany has really found her voice and can hold quite a conversation with herself. This video is just a short sample of what I hear on a daily basis--I love it, Johnny loves it and I thought others might too! I'm not really sure what language this is, but maybe we'll figure it out someday. {It also shows how mobile she's getting. I laid her in the center of her play gym like I always do and of course, she's not on it at all. Won't be too long before she's crawling I suspect!}

Solid Food Time!!

After about a week or so of trying to get Mellany to eat from a spoon, one day, she just finally "got it". Made mommy and daddy super proud ad I had to post this video. It's pretty cute if you ask me; just please disregard the cheesy commentary :-) And if you are interested in watching it, you have to watch it till the end-it's the best part!

I really can't believe that I'm able to get this post done before Thursday comes around. Miss. M is sleeping sound and Johnny is attending an FFA banquet (so jealous!) until late, so that leaves me to watching Idol and updating the blog--which I didn't think I would get done....again.... Hope everyone's week is going well! Ours is pretty great and we're looking forward to a date night on Friday with some Florida shopping on Saturday....I don't think it could get much better!

~Easter 2012~

It was a nice, calm and relaxing Easter for us this year. Well, it was as calm as we can be :-) Johnny had Good Friday off so I spent the morning at the gym while he had Miss. Mellany all to himself. We ran some errands, one which included a little car shopping (see "Easter Bunny Mother's Day" post), had brunch at a restaurant we hadn't been to in Kearney yet, made some baby food, finished the laundry, watched a couple movies and relaxed around the house. It was hard to celebrate Easter without our families, but since we are heading to KC this weekend, we decided we could just wait to travel.  So, we're excited to see our families this coming weekend and happy for the rest we got over the past weekend! Here are some snapshots from our holiday!

Easter Bunny : Mother's Day

What do the two have in common?! In the words of Bob Barker......

................A NEW CAR!!!!!!!

That's right, we finally broke down and traded in the taurus for this beautiful 2008 Buick Enclave! We got a great deal and I absolutely LOVE having an SUV! The car will obviously come with a few sacrifices as far as spending habits go, but we are very happy with the purchase nonetheless! I would say the Easter Bunny was quite generous this year and my very first Mother's Day gift is A-MAZING! :-)
