{{Somewhat}} Wordless Sunday!

Well, it happened....3 out of the 4 of us, got sick. Mama was the only one left standing to care for the ill. After a trip to Urgent Care it was resolved that John had a sinus infection, Mellany had a bad respiratory virus and Johnny had a virus and an ear infection. After a trip to the pharmacy, everyone is on the mend and doing much better. We are no longer wiping noses and coughing....thank goodness!!

Because the littles have been sick for the past couple of weeks, we haven't really done a whole lot. But here are some shots of what we have done.

Valentine's Day was a big success in the eyes of Mellany. While I don't really care for the day, it sure does become more fun with kiddos. She was so excited to hand out her valentines at preschool and was very anxious to get home and show me the valentines she received.

It's been a long time since I've been able to hold my girl while she sleeps. But no matter how old you are, when you are sick, you just want your mama.

Making a Valentine's card for daddy while he sleeps in. She helped cut the heart, signed her name and even gave him some of her stickers. She couldn't wait for him to wake up to give it to him....she was so proud!

Napping with daddy is pretty great too

Mellany's newest adventure with Johnny is picking out his food and feeding it to him. He really doesn't seem to mind....I think he might actually prefer her over mama.

Post nap smiles!

Thanks to some incredible friends, we spent a little bit of our Sunday at their home which included some ice skating for Mellany. She did really well and was super excited about the experience!

Mellany wanted to take a picture of us on a lazy Sunday afternoon

{{Somewhat}} Wordless Wednesday

It's been such a fun, laid back, relaxing week for us. We've played (a lot), made Valentines, put a full size bed in Mellany's room among many other things not captured by the camera.

Johnny is really wanting to crawl all of the sudden and Mellany is getting super excited for her Valentine's Day party at preschool. John is staying really busy at work and I'm working to keep up with the kiddos and everything else that comes our way. We are really trying to soak up time with our babies as we are realizing they are growing at a super fast rate of speed!!

Here's a few snapshots of the past week:

Mellany's preschool Valentines (Thank goodness for Pinterest and its amazing ideas!)

Playtime while daddy is away

Mellany showing off a new dress and necklace

Mellany was reading a card to brother and discussing the weather (aka....she was pretending to be her preschool teachers)

Mellany's big girl bed!!!!!! She absolutely LOVES it! (Yes, she's in her swimsuit. She discovered it while switching from her old dresser to the new.)

Play time!! Mellany is really starting to enjoy playing with Johnny.

Valentine cupcakes with our neighbor!

Gymnast

Today was the last class of the current session at gymnastics so I decided to make it a point to bring my good camera and snatch several pictures of Mellany in action! She has come so far in a year's time, conquering many of the fears she had (balance beam, rings, parallel bars, foam pit). We couldn't be more proud of her and are excited to see where this activity leads her. She is also starting to show some interest in dance (ballet in particular) so that could become part of this as well!

(little brother LOVES all the attention he gets at gymnastics....being the only boy there at that time he has lots of little girls hanging around him)

Potty Celebration!!!

Mellany is officially going on the POTTYYYYYY!!!!!! I'm not sure who is more excited in this house!!! After a full week of quitting pull ups cold turkey, Mellany is using the potty full time and is dry during the night too. (She even wakes up in the morning and goes on her own!!) To us, she now looks like she is 10 years old. This was absolutely one of the most challenging periods of parenting but one of the most rewarding too. Just as soon as we started thinking "Are we doing the right thing?", she showed us we were. We are just so proud of our baby girl!!!

As a reward for going potty, she would get a sticker and the occasional ice cream. Mellany was able to pick a "big prize" for when the sticker chart was full and she chose Chuck E Cheese. Yesterday, she filled the chart and we quickly got ready and headed to see Chuck E. She had a blast eating pizza, playing games and riding rides. It was just as much fun for the rest of us too!

{{Somewhat}} Wordless Sunday!

We haven't really been up to a whole lot lately other than the normal day-to-day routines....gym, preschool, gymnastics, bank, laundry, dishes, cleaning, groceries, target, etc. etc. etc. It has been cold, wet, cloudy and snowy here which accounts for multiple days staying warm inside. While I would prefer to be cold, it is much better to be warm outside when you have kiddos who need to burn energy. We are just hoping that warmer weather comes sooner rather than later!

Here's what we've been up to lately!

I love mornings with these two!

It was only a matter of time before he discovered that he could reach the blinds from his high chair.

They love the bathing together concept

We always practice safety! Her daddy was so proud she insisted Mickey buckle up too.

Mellany's photography skills....never a dull moment with this lady

This....is what I like to call "The Barrett Look". He was enthralled with Mickey Mouse on TV and looked just like his daddy does when he watches tv.

Just a boy and a purple snake

HAPPY SUNDAY!!!
