There's no better way to describe this time of year other than CRAZY! It's literally just as busy as the holiday season in my opinion. I love all the busy and having much warmer weather but gosh, we are going in all kinds of directions every single day. John has been traveling quite a bit for work and then traveled to KC to be with his mama, so we have really been missing him; but it makes me even more grateful that I am able to stay at home and continue to do all the things even with him gone!
Here's what's been happening!
Charlie started tball and is LOVING every single minute. He gets so excited for practice each week and had his first game this past weekend and did so great!
We finished up swim lessons and are ready for school to be out so we can get to the pool!
We had an impromptu lunch out at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants...
After our Mexican lunch we headed to another family favorite, Rural King......it feels like Christmas when the chicks have arrived. Johnny Barrett is REALLY wanting to have some chickens....he's really hoping to get some for his birthday!
Afternoon movie snuggles with these two!
For administrative professionals day, Johnny brought up the idea of taking some treats to the school secretaries. I thought it was so kind and thoughtful, there was no way I could say no to that! Mellany wanted some for her building too and I think the cards turned out so sweet!
Headed to preschool with a lap full of lovies!
Charlie actually got to have a preschool spring program this year! It was really cute and he was so excited!!
After the program we went to lunch at McAlisters.....Hard to believe this cutie will be in school all day every day next year. I'm really gonna miss having him around...
For Christmas my parents got us a membership at Fair Oaks and a stay in the hotel. The hotel was pretty booked through spring break (plus we wanted to wait for warmer weather) so a couple weekends ago we were finally able to cash in our gift! We stayed in the family suite (which is in the silo of the hotel) that had bunk beds and we had so much fun!!! It was calling for rain most of the weekend that we were there, so the crowds were pretty minimal....we were actually the only ones on our cow tour so that was kinda fun! It was a fun little getaway that really wasn't so far (35 minutes from our house) and the kids are already asking to do it again!
The weather was finally warm enough to get some plants in the ground that I got from a friend! After 4 years my flower beds are almost finished :)
Teacher Appreciation Week was last week....my neighbor is in charge so I offered to help her a couple days that she needed it. Charlie got to help one day too! It felt soooooo good to actually be in the school buildings and see the teachers and kids!! Covid took away so many things for us, so it was so good to be back!
Winston sure does love some snuggles!
First tball game! Our Charlie was "in the zone"!
Had to get the kids some new shoes this weekend. While the boys shoes were all out of stock (ugh!), my 10 year old daughter surpassed me in shoe size..... I'm completely blown away!
One of our favorite college kids was in town this weekend and we got to see her at church and catch up! We were all so happy to get some hugs from her!!
For Mother's Day, the kids love to get a cookie cake from our favorite bakery and decorate it for me. This has honestly become a favorite tradition for me too....I love seeing them work together and come up with an end design....I think this year's is my favorite so far!
