June 2026

I think I have determined that June = our favorite month of the year!

Mellany started her first high school flag football practices the first week of June. It's so different than dance, but she is really loving it. She says the girls are so nice and she just really enjoys the sport itself.

I had to get strawberries from the farmer's market this year and we were a little bummed about that. I worked until June 4, which is basically all of strawberry season. But, we need jam so I bought them and made jam. It was still so yummy!

Johnny got another birthday gift in the mail....the kid loves his light sabres.

Packing up for boy scout camp....Johnny wasn't loving the packing part. Here he is crawling up the stairs backwards on his belly....

Johnny eventually got packed up and headed to camp. It was a VERY stormy week with some strong thunderstorms but despite the crazy weather, he still really loved camp and is making plans for next year.

We sent our "home" cell phone with Johnny and the night selfies were my favorite.

Parent night was Wednesday night and it was so good to see him in the middle of the week. In this pic, he's taking Charlie to the restrooms.

And then it was time for the parents to go and these too middle schoolers headed back to their spot.

Later that night, Johnny even called to FaceTime and he wanted a screenshot of our conversation.

While Johnny was at Boy Scout camp, Mellany, Charlie and I were at VBS.

Year #10 for the three of us serving together!

I got a new patio table umbrella and it was the perfect spot for geography homework while Charlie hit up the slip n slide with a neighbor and I hung out in my egg chair.

He made it home!!! Everything was wet, and he was exhausted, but he had so much fun!

We try to attend an Aviators game every summer and 4H night seemed like the perfect night for one. They came out with a win, we had lots of concession food and the weather was fantastic.....these are the moments that I love the most!

The love/hate relationship with 4H has rekindled.....we've got projects everywhere....which I love, but also gives me a bit of a twitch in my eye! :)

We found a patriotic puzzle at hobby lobby and couldn't resist!

We hung out at a friend's house and spent the afternoon swimming and fishing. Definitely a favorite day!

Toy Story 5 came out in theaters and it was a must-see for our family! We all love the Toy Story movies and this one did not disappoint!

The old lady in me is back and taking pics of my pretty flowers. The gladiolas are my favorite for sure. I love the way they look against the house and all the different colors.

The kids all tried to talk me in to bringing home some barn cats from the dairy farm....they were pretty cute, but I stood my ground and the cats stayed at the farm.

We've been walking cows every night that we can and are getting excited for fair.

I watched our friends' little guy, Jackson, and Charlie had so much fun playing with him. Bringing out the Paw Patrol always takes me back to when the boys had it all out every single day.

I made a chocolate pie that was so good it had to be documented. The crust is even homemade....I totally impressed myself with this one.

Johnny wrapped up his shooting sports practices. Watching him shoot makes me so happy because he loves it so much. (And he's actually a pretty good shot!)

After shooting sports, he talked me in to ice cream. (Which let's be honest, didn't take much)

We love days at our friend Sherry's pool!

Fair prep!!

More cow walking....

Then to wrap up the month, we packed up the boys and sent them off to Camp Tecumseh overnight camp. This was Johnny's 2nd year and Charlie's 1st. Both were a little nervous, but also really excited. We've been getting pictures throughout the week and they seem to be loving it, even though the heat index is around 110!

Johnny headed down the slide...

Johnny in the gaga pit...far left boy in gray

We got a dresser for Mellany from a neighbor that was moving and Mellany decided it needed her artistic touch.....it's looking so great so far!

Mellany spent the night with Charlotte during the same time the boys were at camp and Winston waited by the door for the 3 of them to come home....it was so sad! He was missing his people for sure.

Mellany and her besties....they've grown up so much the last couple of years.

The boys have been gone, and Mel was gone for a night too; when she came back Winston wanted all the snuggles with her.

Here's to the weather cooling off just a bit and finishing up fair projects sooner than the night before htey are due!
Happy June!
