7 Months!

My baby girl has reached 7 months. It won't be long and we'll be having her 1st birthday party. She's really done some neat things over the past month:

• Mellany is now eating peas, sweet potato, banana, zucchini and avocado. She's still eating about 3T of rice cereal and somewhere between 4-6 ounces of formula about every 3 hours. She's really getting the hang of eating from a spoon and we are quickly moving to a breakfast, lunch, dinner routine. And the best part, is when you give her a bite, she goes "mmmm"....makes me so happy!
• She can give kisses!!! If you pucker up to her and make a "kissy face" for a few seconds, usually, she will lean right in and give you a big drooly kiss! It is SOO sweet! 
• Her hair is beginning to come in really thick and long and it's standing straight up....it's quite funny
• She's got great strength in her legs and is starting to pick her butt up like she's wanting to crawl
• Her eyesight is really great and she can see at pretty far distances
• If she wants something, she can easily pick it up
• She LOVES tags. If I pick up a toy that she's been playing with, the tag is almost always soaked from her chewing on it. And she can quickly find a tag on anything--her blankets, play gym, jumper...she is determined! Her taggie blanket is one of her favorites! 
• She is drooling constantly and often has sore gums--no teeth yet though
• The girl loves the camera! 
• When she's falling asleep she strokes our arm
• She can "say"..."buh" and "da"......and if we say other things to her, like "ma" for instance {lol} she really studies us and tries her hardest to say it. She still talks in her own language and even gives out a squeal now and then. 
• She is sitting so well in her high chair....she looks like such a big kid. 
• Lately, she is loving to snuggle. She has always loved this, but even more so now
• She doesn't really like to have her clothes changed
• We have stopped cloth diapering because she is such a heavy wetter
• Her hands are constantly in her mouth or on our faces
• She has really great sleeping habits. She takes about an hour nap in the morning and evening and a longer nap in the afternoon. Her bedtime is 8:00. 
• Mommy's phone is one of her new favorite things
• Her attention span continues to amaze us...she really can concentrate and study things for a long period of time

The past month Mellany has become VERY interactive with Johnny and I. She's always making some kind of sound in response to us, grabbing at the phone when we're on it and eating like a big kid. She is ALL girl and is always so happy! We are really taking in every moment we have with her because time is just going way too fast for us!
