It's been a pretty crazy couple of weeks and this mama is tired! Last week the kids and I traveled to KC to celebrate the life of a friend who went to heaven way too early. While it was really nice to see family and so many friends that I don't get to see very often, the circumstances were not so great. It was sad and heartbreaking and my heart is still breaking for his family.
This week we have been at home and back in our normal routine, but John has been gone. He left Sunday to spend the week in MN for a program that he was chosen to be a part of. The kids have really been great, it is just always hard to have your partner gone...and the kids don't really like their "fun dad" gone either. Thankfully we will see him tonight and we should all be back to normal next week!!

They wanted to play in the basement while I made dinner, so I let them. At one point it was just too quiet so I went to check on them....and they were happily playing....made my heart happy.
