It's Christmastime!

It's officially the Christmas season and the Barrett family is PUMPED!!!! While we are sad that CoVid has taken away things like our Christmas programs, we are still so excited for the lights,  the decorations, the food, the gift giving, the songs, the books, seeing our family....ALL OF IT!

Here's what's been happening to kick off the season!

A few snapshots from Charlie's preschool

Charlie and I running some errands...this was at Hobby Lobby...it was super windy which is why my hair is all over the place

We also ventured to Sam's Club where he found "the most awesome remote control monster truck"....little does he know, he'll be getting this at Christmas time! :)

Johnny helped me put together some treats for our delivery drivers. This is something new to us that a friend mentioned and I am so glad we did it! It has been so fun! Every delivery driver has picked something out of the cooler and Johnny asks every day when he gets home if anyone dropped off packages and took a treat. Our Ring doorbell helps with this....because then I can show him the video of what they picked out. The first time he saw a delivery person grab something he said to me, "Mom, that made my heart feel so good". Somedays you feel like, you might actually be doing something right as a mom and that was definitely one of them!

Our elf, Pinky, is back!!! He tried one of the "cookies" our UPS driver leaves for Winston and was not a fan! :)

I picked up Johnny early from school for an eye doctor appointment last week (he's been blinking a lot, side viewing, watery/red eyes for a while now.....so I just wanted to have them checked out just to be sure) so we passed some time in the waiting room taking some selfies. Everything checked out fine thank goodness! The doctor thinks some artificial tears should help and actually thinks it could be a result of mask wearing.....thanks again 2020! :( The eye drops seem to be helping some, but definitely hasn't taken care of the problem. Johnnys says they make his eyes feel better, but sadly I don't think its going to go away until we are done with masking. He's such a trooper though and not once has complained!

Not sure how she got this old....

Winston has become such a snuggler and just looked so stinkin cute on our bed.

Drop off selifes! The kids have really enjoyed having me take them to school (and I have loved the extra time with them in the mornings) so I've been taking them in the morning and they ride the bus in the afternoon.....best of both worlds.

This project has been on my list for a while and I finally had the time to tackle it......the tile grout! I'm not sure the grout has ever been cleaned before (17 years of gross!) and am almost embarrassed with how dirty it was, but am so pleased with the end result....and it was so easy!!! I bought some scrubbing brushes that attach to John's drill on Amazon and a cleaner/resealer from home depot and went to town. The difference is incredible!!! And I did all the tile in our house in about a day! The mudroom was by far the worse because it has the most traffic. And it now feels like a brand new floor almost...it feels so good to have it all clean!

"Pinky" and "Elfie" (The Okos elf) got together and decided to bring the kids these light necklaces to wear while viewing the lighted display on Sunday night in Indianapolis called "Winterlights". The kids thought they were the coolest things and played with them all day until we went to the lights.

The "Winterlights" light display was incredible....you walked through the path and they had snacks and hot chocolate and a special area where you could make smores.....and there was Christmas music playing throughout and it was just so magical!! Not only did the kids enjoy it but us adults really loved it too!

This tree was definitley a highlight for the boys....it was made totally of kid toys....I think they found every tractor, barn and vehicle on the tree. The big circles are swimming pools and there were even sleds used....it was awesome! (If you look closely at the picture on the right, you can see the boys pointing out some of the toys.)

I think the girls would say the lighted walkthrough tunnel was their favorite...they danced and twirled through a good majority of it!

Here's to Christmas 2020 being the very best Christmas yet!
