We've had a low key start to the new year and we are definitely ok with that after the holidays. The kids had remote learning for the first two weeks of school in January and then they returned in person this past Tuesday. The kids were so excited to go back to school but had also gotten into a really good routine at home so it was definitely bittersweet.
Everyone's activities have started now as well.....ninja for both boys and dance and acro for Mellany.....all of which have been a huge hit for each one!
Other than our weekly activities and school we don't have a lot planned (specifically on the weekends) and I'm really loving the slower pace. Although I would probably bet that John has some house projects "up his sleeve" that he'd like to start on. :)
Here's a few pictures of what we've been up to!
Finally using some movie gift cards from last Christmas (2019!....thanks Covid!) We saw the Croods 2 and it was super cute!! Every single one of us loved it and thought it was just as good as the first. We also felt really comfortable in the movie theater....it was extremely clean and each group of people was spaced out really well.
After the movie we took a trip to Target to spend more Christmas gift cards that the kids got and then stopped for lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant!
Big guy thought he was super cool snatching up my phone and AirPods.
First day of ninja class for Charlie!(In the grey shirt and black shorts)
These two are such buddies
Playdate with some friends before in-person learning started again.....we may have gone twice in one week because it was just that much fun....we brought in lunch and played for hours....it was awesome! (Charlie crashed in the car on the way home which rarely happens anymore!)
Winston's favorite time of day is bedtime!
Afternoon baking...
We went back to church for the first time since before the holidays and our kids programming is going through the VBS curriculum from last summer (that never happened because of CoVid). They were so excited...specifically the boys because it is a construction theme! They begged for a picture!
The kids glasses came in....I can't even stand seeing this little boy in glasses!! He's just so stinking cute! (Although he looks super old!)
Morning drop off! I love seeing them walk in together.
New glasses for my girl and a book it coupon for reaching her AR goal!!!
Charlie has been wanting to have Griffin over to play all school year and I was finally able to work it out! I picked them both up from school, grabbed happy meals for lunch and came back to our house to spend the afternoon playing. They had the best time!
