{{Somewhat}} Wordless Wednesday!!

As a stay at home mom, there are a lot of days that seem to stand still. They drag on, nap time is too short, meals take too long to make, both kids are crying at the same time and need you right now and I cannot wait for Johnny to get home. At the same time, the weeks just seem to move so quickly. I feel like I'm writing this post all the time! And that makes me so sad. My babies are getting older so quickly! I mean, here we are at the end of August and Mellany will start preschool next week and turns 3 in almost a month!!!! Johnny will be 3 months old tomorrow....3 MONTHS!!! Thank goodness I am able to stay at home with them....I would be a mess if that wasn't able to happen for us. I think it is safe to say that now that we are settled, we are really trying to take every opportunity we can to experience something in this town as often as possible; because we have quickly realized that we only have so much time as a family together. With that said, here's what we've been up to over the past week:

Naps....lots of naps! I am thankful for a baby who is now sleeping through the night!!!! But somehow I still having trouble getting up in the morning....not sure how that works...

...look at those baby legs....

Mellany's picture-taking skills

Mellany is quickly becoming friends with one of our neighbors, Lauren. She is 3 and goes to the same gymnastics and preschool as Mellany. This was them walking from Lauren's house to our house the other day....dresses, heels, wands....the works! I'm pretty sure the neighbors on the next street over could hear them with their heels clicking on the concrete.

Mellany got a new " beautiful dress" from Gammy!! She calls all dresses "beautiful dresses" from Cinderella....it's so cute. She's soooo into dresses right now. That's about the only thing I can get her to wear!

Our little man is all smiles, all the time!

While I shower, I put Mellany and Johnny in the bathroom with me (thankful for a large bathroom and glass shower) and Mellany gets to play games on the iPad during that time. On this particular day, once I got out of the shower and started blow drying my hair, she found it better suited her to play the iPad in daddy's closet lol...

More naps!

After nap snack/waking up time....this girl has it made for sure!

Donut date with mama! The best donut shop in town is a little "hole in the wall" place about 15 minutes from our house. Mellany had 2 donuts....they're that good!

Hands on Trucks Event. This was super cool. Lots of different vehicles; from firetrucks and police cars to concrete mixers and tractors. The kids got to sit in the driver seats, honk the horns and really explore all kinds of vehicles. Mellany wasn't too fond of it at first (if you can see in the first picture, she's clinging on to Johnny pretty good. He's in the black shirt and khaki shorts), but once she warmed up, she didn't want to leave. (I don't think daddy did either.) The event was held at a local Children's center called "Imagination Station" that has lots of exploration type activities that pertain to science and will be great to utilize once winter arrives again. With your admission to Hands on Trucks, you were able to explore the station as well, which was really nice since we hadn't been there before. Mellany loved it and had a great time!

Trying to get a laugh

Checking out the stain on our front door (side pieces) and showing off her stickers from "Hands on Trucks"

Perfect Saturday night! Mellany playing with her brother....melts our hearts! She also discovered that the same glasses that fit her teddy bear, fit her head as well. So....she's been wearing them constantly! When she wakes up in the morning, she comes to our bed wearing them. When she goes to bed at night, she wears them, when she sings into the glass on the fireplace she wears them.....I'm talking constantly. And of course, we think she looks pretty darn cute in them.

Just hanging out in her Cinderella dress

More of Mellany's picture-taking skills....this one isn't that bad, I didn't think

Morning cartoons before leaving for the gym

Play time, pretzels and shopping at the mall

Her first double braid!!!!!! This was a huge feat for me, as I have been begging and begging her for months to do them. She finally let me and she LOVES them. She calls them her Elsa braids.

Seriously...he is always smiling! He's one of the happiest babies I have ever been around! All you have to do is look at him and he smiles back. It's so sweet!

Daddy trying to get a laugh out of the little guy. He really likes John's whistling and will usually give him a good rolling laugh, but this was all he got this time....of course, the one time we tried to get it on video. It's still cute regardless.
