Branson Vacation

We have returned and are settling back in from our 10 day vacation in Branson (12 loads of laundry and 3 days of unpacking and getting back in a routine later....). We always have so much fun while we are there and this year was no different. Spending so much time with family makes it really hard to come home. This year was extra special because my mom was able to make the trip, Mellany and Daxton got to spend an entire week together and we got to bring our camper! It really couldn't have been better. Thanks to John, we have lots of pictures to share (I took a phone hiatus) of all the fun we had!

Headed south!

This was day 2 of these two spending time together....play hard, sleep hard!

One of the first stops was "The Track" for train rides, go carts, bumper boats and a few carnival type rides.

Second stop: Silver Dollar City (day 1). I don't think it could have been much hotter or busier on the day we chose to go. Thankfully, we bought season passes and were planning on spending another day at the park.

Bass Pro Shop

Mellany had gotten a pretty bad blister on her foot from a new pair of shoes my mom got her while we were outlet shopping. Mellany complained about this blister for a couple of days but wouldn't let me put anything on it. So one day while she had fallen asleep, I decided to put some neosporin on a bandaid and sneak it on her foot. It woke her up and she didn't like it, but somehow I convinced her to keep it on for just a little while and this is how she fell back asleep.

Melanie's first experience fishing with her daddy. She loved it and now wants her own princess fishing pole. She told me all about it when she got back to the camper; how Uncle Raymond caught the fish and "winded" it up, and put his hand in the fish and put it in the water....she just couldn't tell the story fast enough.

Dessert at the College of the Ozarks

Melanie's birthday is so close to the time that we take our trip, that the majority of the family ended up buying her presents while shopping in Branson. So, we decided to just have an early birthday party for her and let her open them up! She just loved it! This girl is all decked out in princess gear (literally head to toe) ready to ride on her scooter.

Silver Dollar City Day #2: This day was MUCH cooler and WAY less crowded. We pretty much had the whole park to ourselves and walked right on to whatever ride we wanted. It was AWESOME and we even got to take Daxton with us who was brave enough to ride on the American Plunge (water log ride) with John and I.

Grandfather's mansion is crazy with crooked floors, mirrored rooms.....Mellany loved it, Daxton did not.

Day 2 was a successful day

Heading home. Mellany felt the need to grab a few shots

We're already ready for next year!
